ROLLABLE RIBBON CONNECTORIZED ASSEMBLY

Rollable ribbon fiber optic cables are one of the most exciting developments in outside plant (OSP) and indoor flame-rated cabling technology in years. These cables can help users achieve significant time and cost savings using mass fusion splicing while also doubling their fiber density in a given duct size compared to traditional flat ribbon cable designs. Each OFS rollable ribbon within a cable features 12 individual optical fibers that are partially bonded to each other at predetermined points. These ribbons can be “rolled” into a flexible and compact bundle that offers the added benefit of improved fiber routing and handling in closure preparation. The Rollable Ribbon Connectorized Assembly offers all the benefits of rollable ribbon cable including small outer diameter, tight bend radius and flexibility with termination counts of 24 – 864 fibers with the option of MPO, LC or SC connectors. The compact diameter of the OFS breakout design enables easy installation and pulling through cable trays. Breakout lengths are staggered for general use or customized for specific frame installation and are one hundred percent factory tested.

EZ!Fuse Splice On Connector

The EZ!Fuse Splice On Connector termination system allows for easy results and flexibility in the field. The “splice-on” connector (SOC) eliminates the need for field polishing and significantly improves the quality of the termination and installation time required. The connector is easily assembled by using a process that requires minimal skill or training. These connectors are optimal for use in FTTx application. Both UPC and APC polishing are available for single-mode fiber. EZ!Fuse Splice On Connector is compatible with the FITEL Fusion Splicers models Ninja, S179, S178 and the EZ-Terminator™.

With its simple assembly and high performance quality, the EZ!Fuse SOC termination system is optimized for use in FTTx, data center and other relevant applications.

OPTICAL FIBER INNOVATIONSspool-of-fiber-optics

OFS offers a wide variety of multimode and single-mode optical fibers for applications ranging from short-reach to long-haul. OFS fibers are manufactured with state-of-the-art processes to ensure the utmost quality, performance, and reliability. OFS fibers have some of the best specifications in the industry that provide tangible performance benefits.

AllWave®, TeraWave®, and TrueWave® Single-mode Fibers

Our comprehensive line of single-mode fibers are designed to optimize system cost and performance for specific applications. Whether it be AllWave G.652D and G.657 fibers, TeraWave G.654 fibers, or TrueWave G.655 & G.656 fibers, each fiber has unique characteristics that can lower overall system cost. Reference our Single-mode Fiber Selection Guide to see which OFS fiber is best for your needs.

LaserWave Multimode Solutions: Better Fiber for Better Connections

Compared to single-mode, multimode fiber continues to be the more cost-effective and lowest power consumption fiber for short-reach applications (< 100 meters) due to generally cheaper and less power-hungry 850 nm VCSEL-based optics.  The OFS LaserWave family of OM3, OM4 and OM5 multimode fibers support application speeds ranging from 10 Gb/s all the way to 800 Gb/s and beyond.  LaserWave Dual-Band® OM4+ and LaserWave WideBand® OM5 fibers offer extended reach for multi-wavelength WDM applications, including current and future BiDi and SWDM4 solutions.

OFS LaserWave® Multimode optical fibers have enhanced specifications

The glass geometry specifications of OFS LaserWave multimode fibers are best-in-class, providing a tighter fit inside connector ferrules to help minimize connection and insertion loss.  This makes it easier to accommodate tight power budgets, and can allow for longer reach or more connections.  OFS continues to lead the way in demonstrating superior process and quality control through their continuous improvement process.

LaserWave Multimode Rollable Ribbon Cables

Ultra-Compact Data Center Cables

Improvements to the microbend sensitivity of OFS LaserWave fiber have unlocked Multimode Rollable Ribbon Solutions for high-density multi-fiber interconnects (E.g., 400G SR4, 800G SR8).

  • Partially bonded ribbon
  • Rolls into a cylinder
  • Higher density than flat ribbons
  • Enables ribbon splicing
  • Ideal for multi-fiber connectors

Compact and lightweight R-Pack™ Backbone Fiber Optic Cables are plenum (12-72 fiber) or dual rated (Riser/CPR 12-144 fiber) for use in demanding building applications.

Higher fiber counts are available in AccuRiser I/O Dual-Rated Fiber Optic Cables (Riser and LSZH/CPR 144-864 fibers). AccuRiser cables simplify transitions from outdoor to indoor use and feature a dual flame rating for universal use throughout much of the world.
